What a Mess

What a mess I found yesterday. The tree had no water when I took it down and we had filled it twice in the week it was up. When I took it out side and came back to clean up after it I found the carpet soaking wet where it had been. So out came the shampooer to suck it up as best it could and I have a fan on the spot now. I will be cleaning the rest of the house and shampooing the whole carpet. It needs it anyway so I might as well use this time to get it done.
Tom is back on the road and will stay out past the new year, maybe he will be back for my b-day. I had to close his checking account last week because someone was accessing it. A company we were doing business with split and the second one kept thinking we were doing business with them and not the one we signed with. I had tried to cancel the second one but they didn't cancel so I had to go to the bank and fill out lots of paper and close the account, we might be getting all the money back and they are not getting anymore. It is a pain getting everything reset on the new account.
I woke up this morning to snow. It is just a bit more than a dusting but it was a surprise. The forecast was for light snow in the foothills not in the low lands. It will melt soon, but for a little while the dog is happy.
I need to go and get some work done. Later.

It's Over

Wooohooo Christmas is over and the tree is coming down.
This year we were givin a real tree and we put it up instead of the old fake one.
Kim has resiptory problems so I waqs not sure I wanted to try a real one or not but it was free so I did. She did fine with it in the house but it was only here for a week. We might get one next year.
The kids surprised me by liking what they got even though it was not what they wanted.
Christmas Eve we went over to my sis for dinner and we exchanged our gifts eveing thing was just great. The kids got gift cards from their uncle and Papa.
Christmas morning we opened up the gifts under our tree, then we drove 100 miles to Tom's folks place and had lunch and opened gifts there. The kids got another gift card from gma. All the gift cards are from Wal-Mart so I only have to go to one place once, yea for me.
Got to go and look for something.

Merry Christmas to All

I got most of everything done and the gifts are wrapped and I can't wait till tomorrow is over.
We had dinner with my family tonight and exchanged gifts.
In the morning we will open gifts here at home and then drive 100 miles to the in-laws and open gifts visit for a while and drive back home.
Hubby wants to get back on the road first thing tuesday morning. He has been a bigger grinch this year than before.I think it is because he has been home longer than he planned and he had to fix the truck almost $500 and 2 days, but mow it is fixed.
I will get my present from him on valentines day because he wants to get me a good quality one when he can afford it not a cheap one. I got him a briefcase because the old one is falling apart.
The kids have a lot of gifts from us to open but I don't think I will get high marks from them. I could not afford or find what they wanted this year but I did my best for them. They may be greatful or maybe not.
You all should have a Merry Christmas.

Is it over yet.

OK first the power at my sis' and dad's came back on monday afternoon. Yippee!
Today was the last day of school for the kids and it was a half day, what a waist.
No I did not get any of the secret work done and probably wont. I have not gotten to the sewing job either. Hubby is home and will take the car to get a part for the truck a bill whopping $400 and half the day to go get it.
I still need to get the Christmas shopping done. For dad a classic western dvd, my nephew some drawing things, the other nephew I don't know he's 20. My hubby he needs a new briefcase, and something else for each of the kids. It is my sons B-day too so I need to pick up something extra for him. Then what to get all the in-laws.
Where to spend Christmas with my family or drive 100 miles and spend it with the in-laws. I don't want to do either but I have to pick one or they will all be upset. Next year we are going out of town.
I can't wait till Jan 3rd, back to school.

What a weekend

Yes I have power back on after it was out for almost a whole day. But my Dad and Sis still does not have power so here they are at my house. Normally there are just the 4 of us here till hubby comes home from being on the road and now there are 10 here and hubby is not one of them.
They come over to shower and do laundry and eat. I have a large house but I am running out of room. I think the dryer is going out so the towels are running short.
The problem with everyone here is they eat differently than I do. They fry everything on high and lots of grease. I perfer to slow cook and little or no grease and veggies. I know they have not had fresh veggies in like for ever.
This morning my Bro made suasage gravy and biscuits, I was raised on this stuff and now I find it gross.
It could be up to 10 days before they get their power back on. Yea me.
I have a lot do before christmas and only 2 full days of school. I need to do some secret work here but that may not happen. I also have a sewing commission and that is not getting done either.
I have misplaced or lost a fax and 2 pay settlement statements for my business and I don't know what to do about it.
I have a meeting this afternoon and it will be a long one too.
Hubby is coming home for the night and then I don't know what the plans are so that he will be home for Christmas.
I still have Christmas shopping to do, everything.
I did make my niece's dog a sweater and now the dog thinks I like her.
I need to go and put the tree up and get the house decorated, I don't know why.

WOW

How to discribe the weather. Wow says a lot. Lots of wind and rain and more wind.
The wind picked up yesterday around 4 in the afternoon and the rain was hard and heavy too. I was at the school getting ready for the concert and dinner so I didn't notice it much. I knew it was coming and I was ready for it to come while at the concert I had put a new flashlight in my purse. The lights stayed on at school so that was nice of the weather. I was not the only one there with a flashlight either, lol. The concert was great and the kids all did a fine job. The best is always at the end though. Hehe, my daughter is in the 5th grade and the 5th and 6th grades are the last to perform first the band, Kim plays the flute starting this year and she sings too. She has sung since kindergarten. The music teacher is awesome and this is his second year there, the kids have done so well with him there.
Now back to the weather. When we got home we seen that the electric had gone out for a time, when and how long I have no idea but it was back on. The lights kept going off and on about 4 times before it went out for good at 11:45 p.m. I stayed up to watch the trees sway back and forth for about an hour before going to sleep. This moring I got up to turn on the battery powered radio to check on the school being closed for the day and it was. (No secret Christmas work today). My trees stayed up and the house came through just fine. The power came back on around 6 p.m. tonight.
This weekend we are going to get cold and wet and even colder, maybe snow. Here it is Dec. 15th and already it has been a long winter. Hopefully the power stays on and my Dad's and Sis' will come back on soon too.
I'll check back again if I can.

A New Post

In case you were wondering, no I did not fall off the earth. I have not been able to get to the computer for a while. The kids are on or Hubby is home and is on the computer. Also I have had not much to say about anything.

This is my dog when it had snowed last month, he just curled up in the yard like he always does. I think I saw a smile on his face.

I did do a little crocheting this week. I finally made something from the JA Boucle that Cordi sent to me. I made a simple poncho and Nicole has her eyes on it and so does Kim.

Tonight is the High School/Middle School concert and Nicole is singing. This is the first year that Thomas will not be performing. He has sung since Kindergarten and also done band in 5th and 6th grades. Tomorrow night is the Elm. School concert and Kim will be singing and playing the flute in the beginning band. I need to go this afternoon to help make the props for tommorow night.

Finished

I finished everything I had to do this week. I finished the paperwork in only 3 hours weds. morning. I tool dad to the foot dr. and while there I worked on the socks, we left at 12:30 and got home at 4:30 we only went to the dr and then a quick stop at the store. When I got home I cut out and started the top I had to sew. I don't like the way it turned out after I finished it on thurs. Everything is wrong about it so I started over and I got it finished. The socks I needed to make got finished last night during the late news.
The weather finally cleared up and the snow is all gone. The kids were home for 2 days because of the snow and ice. There was 3 inches of ice on the roads. The schools north of here are still closed today, lots of make up time there.
Got to go and clean the house today.
