I'm off for the weekend

Yep it is time to get in the van go get it loaded with kids and take off for the weekend.
I hope I have time to sit and chill this weekend and not have to spend a lot of time chasing after a bunch of teenagers. I will have 6 in my van for the 4 hour trip and there should be about 250 total from all over the state.

The trip to Portland was uneventful. I mean nothing happened on the drive there and back. Round trip was 300 miles and we were gone for the better part of the day. We saw the Dr and he said no surgery this year but he wants Nicole back next year. There is one part of her scars, same place on both ankles are a bit tight but not causing her any pain or discomfort. Depending on how fast she grows she might need for the scars to be released maybe around 18 years old.

For more bad news. I got a call from Hubby this morning before going to Portland and his Mom is not doing well. She colapsed this morning while doing breakfast dishes. She has been on pain relievers since last week. I was hoping it was a reaction. In a way it is she has not been moving around as much as she could be because of the back pain. She has blood clots in her lungs now. We knew it could happen because her brothers and sisters have blood clots to. It is a blood disorder that runs in the family. She will be in th hospital for a while so they can get the right mix of blood thinners, then she will be able to go home. She just turned 78 last week.

Well off to take some cough syrup and go to bed. That drive wore me out today.

O.K. It's Monday again.
I am still coughing and cough meds are not helping much. Cough drops don't work at all because the congestion fells like it is in the bronchial tube. I guess it will take a few more days. At least I am not as tired as I was last week.
Yesterday was a very busy day for me. The girls had to serve at a breakfast 9:30 -11:30, I had a meeting at 3:30 and a meeting with the girls at 5:00. My son was supposed to help at a car wash but I could not swing that too.
Today I got caught up on my office work and balanced both check books and paid my bills. I have all my bills paid for the month and there is month left over. WoooHooo!
I also got new shoes for Thomas and me. I did not need new shoes but I got them anyway. Hehehe.
Tomorrow I have to take Nicole to Portland for a Dr's appointment at the Shriners Hospital. Two hours drive and we will spend about 30-45 minutes and drive home. We go about once every two or three years for a check up. It is just a scar check to make sure the burn scars are stretching as she grows. She will be 15 next week and the burns happened when she was a baby. So far so good. No surgeries yet.
I hope to blog before I go to Conclave with the boys this week end. We will leave early Thursday morning to get to Wenatchee before noon. We will come back on Sunday.
Sunday the girls also have a meeting on Sunday when I get back, then it is spring break for the kids. boohooo!!
I'm going to go now and take some nighttime cough meds.

I love my husband but I am so glad he is back to work.
We finally got the truck from the shop and hubby is back on the road. He was driving me NUCKIN' FUTS. I have been sick and unable to do the house work and had no help from the kids or him. All he did was complain about the mess he was making and I was not cleaning up after him. I mean it I am wiped out from all this coughing. I even had to take a nap after showering. I still have the cough too.
All I have been able to do craft wise is crochet some potholders, and I got some dishcloths knitted. Nothing more.

Monday Again

All I can say is I fell a bit better today than I did all weekend.
I had a thing to go to on Sat. and hubby being a butthead said if I was to sick to go then the kids did not need to go either. So I lifted my head off the pillow and went. It was important to them as well as me and he stayed home. He never wants to go and do anything when he is home and gets a bit irritated that we go and do things with out him. He gets mad when we are here and make noise and he gets mad that we are gone. No pleasing him.
What made him upset this weekend is the case handler at the insurance company was out sick the last half of the week and her supervisor said that it was not all in order and that the truck was in the shop to soon and we would have to pay it ourselves if we wanted it out by tomorrow. Today she was back and said her boss was wrong that everything is ok and now there is a check being sent by carrier to us. We should have the truck back by Weds. and he should be back on the road by Thurs.
I can't wait. I love him but he has been here for more than 2 weeks and has done nothing but grump. He did take care of me a little while I was sick.
Today I had to deal with the IRS. About as much fun and having a tooth ache. They do not have intellegent people working there. They must have thick skinn to work there to put up with all the BS that get tossed on them and I was not short on dishing it out either. But I was nice about it, I mean I did not raise my voice. I can't still. My voice is still kind of horse from coughing.
I finally got to the post office and got the grannys in the mail to Brandy.
Well I got to go so I can go to the store. We are out of milk, eggs, and SODA!

I feel like I have been dragged behind the truck that hit me.
Coughing is still bad, breathing is better, and now I am having fever off and on all day. Still taking the antibiotics. I hate being sick.

I hate being sick

Yep I got some weird thing going on here. I woke up on Monday and my voice was off and on all day along with a chest cough. Tuesday the voice was mostly out and the coughing was worse. Wednesday I had no voice at all and felt a bit restricted in breathing, still coughing too. So I went to the dr's. This is what she said, I have an ear infetion and to soon to be broncitis. She gave me some Z-max and cough syrup with codine and an inhaler if I wheeze. I tried the inhaler and I could feel the chest open up and my voice came back for a little while.I think I am loving the inhaler. I think the airway was stopping my voice from working. Oh and my heart rate was way high today too. My BP was well with in normal but the heart was up to 100 bpm and 120 after coughing no wonder I have been so tired these days. Everything should clear up in the next couple of days.
On another note last evening we got a call from Tom's mother she told Tom that his uncle had passed away on Monday. It really was no surprise, the last time we saw him we knew it would not be long and it was longer than we thought. 80 years is a good life.

Crafting this week I made a pot holder.

Finally!!!!!

After a week of playing phone tag and not getting any answers we finally got an appraiser out here to look at the truck. So Monday it goes in the shop, should take all week.
The second estimate was over $9000.00 and 3 weeks to order and another 2 weeks to fix. We are going with the first one just because they have the hood in stock and will only be a week.
I have to do 6 months of finance statements to send the the insurance company so we can collect down pay. They need to average what we have made with the truck so they can pay us for the loss time. I know they are going to short us by giving us a low amount.
I don't work outside of the house so we are going to be in for rough times. We will manage, we always do. This means I wont be going back to school the quarter and cut down on the yarn stuff.
But having Tom home for another week is going to drive me "Nuckin' Futs"!

I have been crafting. I have finished the teddy bear and Kim grab it up.
I am almost finished with the blue rose doily, and I have a pillow to finish up too.

The first estimate is in. $5700.00 and that is reparing the hood not replacing it. Taking 27 hour to do the job.

Monday

This is the damage to the truck. We are waiting for the estimates to come in and the time it will take to fix.

The weekend was fine, sort of. Nicole got first place in main dish cooking and Kim got third place for her short story. They did not place in the other competition they entered in but I am proud of them for entering.
The ashtray girl got a ride over, but we had to share a room with her. We were sleeping in the classrooms at a school. she was in the opposite corner from me and I could still smell the stale smoke on all her gear. We sprayed it down all weekend with fabreeze but it smelled like fabreeze and month old never cleaned ashtray. We used a whole bottle too.
My niece was coughing all weekend and her Dr. said it was allergies not her asthma.
My Kim said her nose tickles and her head hurts but she will not complain till it gets real bad. Before you ask, no we could not move her to another room. Next time she will have restrictions that will make it hard on her to come but easier on us breathing. You know she even had the nerve to complain about all the coughing during the night. I know she is just 13 but really.
Another girl made a pain in the a** of herself till my sis told her we would call her dad, she got better. Had some real young girls that could not-not touch other peoples stuff.
This next year I will be the one in charge and things will definitely be different.
We have a four day trip coming in June.

What the hell. I finally got rides for those 2 girls and the other lady thinks she did it all tonight because she thought it was taken care of already.
She never called me or answered my e-mails. So how could she think it was done, or that she did it. #@$%^&$!
Tom just called me. Someone just backed into the truck and split the hood. Hopefully he will beable to get from AZ. to Los Angeles with it before getting it repaired, or maybe he can fix it just so to get home with it. It is better if he can make it home rather than have to take time off on the road and need a hotel for a week or more.
