Going for a week

I am going to be gone for a week. My DDs and I are going to Vancouver, BC. We are going for an International Convention of the organization they belong to. It should be fun and an experince for them, I never got to go to one of these when I was young and still an active member.
Here comes the ranting part.
I have been planing this trip for months and my sis knew about it. The first plan was for my son to stay with her but her youngest son is a teenage size shit. He is hanging around kids much older than him and could be getting into trouble but my sis works 13 hours a day and does not know what he is up to all day. Her oldest son is almost 20 and is lazy and doesn't really keep an eye on the other boy or the little sister. I am afraid my son will get into trouble or just get blamed for things he didn't do, things he would not normaly do.
So what to do? I gave him a choice of what he wanted to do this week stay with his aunt, go on the truck with his dad but he has an appointment the week after and not sure if he would get home in time for. My hubby made arrangement for a third choice, to stay with Grandma and Grandpa. It is on the way to Canada and we hardly see them except for holidays and family reunions, and they are getting up there in years. So he is going to the Grandparents for the week. He will get to do some ceramic painting with Grandma and watch baseball with her too. Grandpa will talk his ear off too.
Sis is now bent out of shape. She was acting like it was going to put her in a hardship to have him for the week. She just IMed me to ask if he was going or not I told her he was going to th Grandparents and sis gets insulted and said "I guess you don't want him to be with my kids".
I did ask her to feed my animals and get the mail, she said she would but I think that might be to much for her to do I know she wont water my plants.
It is on her way home so it wont use gas but she is just being bitchy right now. It is ok to talk about her her she does not know about my blog or read any of them anyway.
One of the reasons for her moodiness might be that today would have been her and her husband anniverary abd he passed away almost 6 years ago. She is still in denile and feels sorry for herself. Always saying things like it's not fair that her kids have to grow up without their dad and it would be different if he were still here. I think it is time she moved on but her friends still encourage her to pity herself.
Enough of this BS. I am going to go pack for the week.
See ya all in a week.

4 straight days of 90*+

That's right we had 4 days of 90* or higher with one day being 98*.
For western Washington that is damn hot.
But today it is much nicer 76* that is 18* cooler than yesterday.
Yesterday I hosed off the patio it looks much nicer now plus it did cool off the side of the house too. I was wetting down the roof too, something we used to do in Bakersfield, Ca. when it was hot. While doing this I felt a slight stinging on my big toe and looked down to see it was "BIG GREY AND WHITE, HAIRY SPIDER" it bit me.
I hosed it good. Today just a red spot about the size of the eraser on a pencil. Everyone is worried about it because I am allergic to bees so they think I might get sick from the spider bite. I have everything I need if I do get sick. Teasing with my hubby about being bitten by a spider, feeling the spidie senses and such. I said well today I do feel like working with thread instead of yarn. I am doing some cro-tat, that is tatting with a crochet hook with some crochet added. I printed a doily pattern I might try and also a very small teddy bear. I have a box of thread that the thread fairy gave me so I am trying to use it.
I also have to get some dolls done before Sept. I have not been working on them because of the heat. I also want to get the potholders I am working on done too.
Along with the box of thread I was also give another box of yarn to work something up. I'm thinking afghan of mixed colors there might be enough of the homespun to make one.
My oldest daughter is planing an auction for Sept. for the organization she and her sis belong to so I am making stuff for her to sell. The last two she did made over $100 so I am hoping this one will too.
Trying to come up with fundraising ideas besides carwashes because not all the girls will work a carwash, or sell things to family and neighbors.
Weel I think I'll surf the web then go to bed.
Have a good one.

DAMN it is HOT!!!

Yes it is hot here. Officially it was up to 98* at the airport, but accordingly to the temp gage in my van it was 105*. We were driving around looking for a pool just a small one to sit in. Went to Walmart, Kmart, Freddy's, Rite-Aid, and Walgreens. Not a wading pool in sight. But I got one for the dog, a baby pool. He is a husky mix and needs to be brushed to rid him of his mass of fur.
We are experiencing stagnate air, unhealthy air quality, and the humidity will be rising tomorrow with thundershowers in the mountains around us.
I am trying to get this house decluttered and not doing so well getting it done in this heat and my back hurting. I want to move the rolltop desk to another wall and line the wall with bookshelves for the movies and books. I can also put some of my crafting goodies in bins and on shelves.
I did get the cat box cleaned it is usually Nicoles job but she is on the truck with her dad and wont be back till next week, I had to do it. The kittys watched as I took the box out and cleaned it. When I was done I swear they were playing "rock, paper, sissors" to see who went first. Patches plays by her own rules so naturally she got to go first.Lol.
It is so hot that the cats are doing their best to keep cool. Spike will put his paws around the water crock with one toe of each paw in the water and then float his chin, I will try to get a pic it is so funny.
Well I am off to take a cooling shower.

Monday Monday

It is Monday again.
This weekend the two kids and I went to Wenatchee. Just over the cascades from here, about 3 hours drive. Kim had a workshop to attend and so I drove her and two other girls over, Thomas didn't want to stay with my sis so he came too. The girls had a sleepover in the at a lodge where they were meeting and I had booked a hotel room.
Thomas was not feeling well he has double ear infection from swimming. Poor guy had a rough time sleeping. He was so good while waiting for me to get out of my workshop on Saturday, he did not bother the girls or interrupt my group, even when his ears were hurting. I did take him to the Dr. On Friday and he has meds for his ears they are still bothering him.
I went to JoAnn's this afternoon and got a great buy on some oriental silk, $2.00 a yard. I also got a yard of veleteen for a medieval corset for Kim a dress to follow the states theme for the org. she is in. It is blue and I might do some beading in gold on it. Then I need to get fabric for the underdress and skirt.
The weather here is great right now, 70* and 46% humidity. it will warm up a bit more before sunset maybe another 4*. We have a little bit of clouds floating over but in all a very nice day. The weather may warm up a bit before this weekend maybe in the 80's, that is hot for here.
Well time to get dinner for the children.

I came back from the woods

Back form camping. We had a great time while we were there.
We were in a state park where hubby's family has a family reunion every year, so sat we visited with his family.
When we got there on fri. I set up the tent and put out the sleeping bags for the kids, Tom and I shared blankets be cause we only have 3 bags. He was pretty well set on not spending any more money on the trip.
We have no padding to sleep on so we slept on the rocks. I guess next year we will have pads, and maybe 2 more bags. I did pick up some folding camp chairs for everyone so we all had our own place to sit. The kids wanted to set their chairs where everyone else had their chair set up, Tom took care of it though.
I told everyone I was on vacation they would have to do everything for themselves.
It only worked for half the time but half time is better than nothing.
For the family reunion I made apple cobbler in a dutch oven over the campfire, it was my first time doing this and it turned out pretty good except for the burned edges. I was happy with it.
For dinner we had tin foil dinners everyone made their own, and nocho som'mores, made in the skillet over the fire.
The state park, I wished I had taken my camera. It is beautiful there, tall cedars and douglas firs, we even saw a few bald eagles and little woodland critters.
So peaceful there we had not taken a radio or anything else to connect us to the world. I was in HEAVEN. Now I am back.
The oldest is on the truk with Tom and wont be back till the end of the month. The other two are in a sumer camp at school, it is called the G.R.E.A.T. program. Gang Resistance Education And Training, it is put on by the Tribal Police. It will last for 11 days. so during the day I am alone from 6:40 am til about 4:00 pm. peace and quite. What to do besides clean house and watch tv? I'll think of someting.lol.

Gone Camping

This weekend we are going on a family campout.
This is the first camping trip as a family ever.
We are going because sat. is a family reunion on Tom's side. It is at a state park so why not go camping.
Last week I went to work to help out my sis and her boss. I hate doing daycare, but that is what I am doing, toddlers and infants.
I went to work the day after getting back from Ellensberg, went to work at a fireworks booth, had the forth with the family and went to work for two days this week. I'll not work tomorrow, I have a nurses appointment and then we are off to the campgrounds. I don't know if I am needed to work next week or not, but I need to get some rest and do some work around the house.
Be back on Sunday or Monday.

You Are A: Bear Cub!

bear cubBears are strong and independent creatures who roam in the forest in search of food. Bears are usually gentle, but anger one and be prepared for their full fury! You're tough, you won't back down from a fight, you have a bit of a temper -- classic attributes of a bear. Intelligent and resourceful, though lazy at times, you are a fascinating creature of the wild.

You were almost a: Kitten or a Monkey
You are least like a: Chipmunk or a DucklingWhat Cute Animal Are You?

I stole this from Brandi's blog.

Busy, busy, busy

I got back from Ellensberg on tusday. It was hot and dry and I thought I would melt.
On wedensday my sis called early in the morning and needed someone to work in the daycare where she works at so I went in to work. I really don't need to work but they were really short handed. I was put with the infants and a few toddlers, they leak, whine, ozze and smell bad.
Thursday I had to help get things ready for the girls firework stand. So this week I have been working at the daycare and fireworks stand. We are short handed at the stand so I have been putting in long hours there. This is the first year we have had a fireworks stand and the first year there has been one where we are so things are kind of slow, I hope we make a few thousand dollars this year. It helps out the girls so we don't have to have a lot of fundraisers all year long.
I have been on my feet all week long and my knee and ankle hurts so bad at night and are swollen all night long. I am hoping I have not injured my ankle (I broke it in 2003), and my knee cap is out of alignment other than using a brace and ice there is not much else I can do.
So far this holiday there has been a few grass fires near me I can smell there smoke at night. It is hot and dry people so please be carefull with your fireworks!
Have a Happy and Safe 4th.
