Oh, boy

I spent the afternoon at the clinic with my son. He has broncitis and fluid in both ears.
Todays weather is kind of wacky. Wind, rain, sleet, and snow. Just a trace today and trace to 2 inches tomorrow. They may cancel school in the morning. I hope not.
I am still working on the blue rose doily and granny squares for Divine Stiches

Rant, Don't look it my be ugly.

Yep I'm going to rant.
The organization that my girls belong to is having a state wide sleep over this weekend. The lady in charge of our group e-mailed me last Friday to dump the arrangement of rides for everyone on me. I have done that for all but 2 1 girl dose not belong to our group but another one in town and the 2nd is a girl who has not been to a meeting in 5 months. When we first started planning for our group my sis and I said we could only take one of our vans not both we are sticking to that. The lady got a job in a town 30 miles away and does not want to come back for these girls. The 2nd girl lives in a house where both parents smoke in doors. My daughter and niece have breathing issuse and my other daughter gets migranes from smoke. I do not want to expose them to 4 hours of breathing in a used ashtray. Plus she is just down right rude. I do not want them to be sick and not have fun this weekend. I have checked with 5 other of the groups in the area and they don't have room either. I have pushed it back on her now and she is being a BITCH about it. I said she would have to come back to pick them up and she said no to this. I don't have a lot of cargo room in my venture and I don't like having to entrust my stuff to someone else to handle. It is my stuff and I don't like anyone touching it, even Tom gets yelled at for touching my stuff. I have to pull one of the back seats out for packing space. That will reduce the seating from 7 to 5. I need to take an ice chest, cooking gear, 5 sleeping bags, 5 weekend bags, a laundry basket full of stuff to be raffled off, my areo bed because I don't like to sleep on the hard floor, and costumes for the 3 girls perfomances. The ice chest and cooking gear is for competition. I am leaving my body pillow home, I can feel my back hurting already.
Why we are not taking sis astro. She is having a double flare of carpol tunnel, I would have to buy her 2 sets of snow chains, she has never driven in the pass under snowy conditions and one of us would still have to take the rude ashtray.
She called to invite her so she needs to deal with her.
I hope I didn't sound like a bitch too, but I needed to rant.

I'm OK

The toe may not be broken. The knee has a nasty bruise, and my butt has a bruise too.
My back is just a little stiff but otherwise I'm OK.
Sunday I went to Artco (craft store) and bought some fuzzy yarn and got a free pattern for a teddy bear. I am just sewing it up and adding the details before stuffing it. It is so cute.
I started a blue rose doily from Annie's Attic. Why does it say printer friendly and have 2 pages of ads?
Today hubby is home and we went to the bank, post office and dropped off his paperwork so we can get paid. Then we had lunch and went to the grocery store and came home. He cooked dinner tonight. He even made Nicole do the dishes. NO cooking and no dishes for me, yay me.
Back to crocheting for a while.
Later everyone.

Oh what a day.

First thing this morning my son said he was to tired to go to school and "please I will do the laundry and take out the trash so please can I stay home?" OK but you will go to school even when your sick now. This afternoon the first one to come back from school was the oldest girl, who upon getting home started flipping sh** to the boy. Then in the kitchen he was making romain noodles in the microwave and she was starting to cook some eggs. Neither one of them is giving room to the other one. He went to the sink with the hot noodles to drain and she got in the way and yadda, yadda, yadda. He spilled the hot water over his hands and thinks he is going to die from it the way he acted. I go in to get a dishcloth with cold water to put on and "whoosh" down I go sliding in to home plate, or rather the sinks kick board. Yep slammed my big toe right in there. It hurts and I think I may have fractured it. It is still swollen. Not much to do about a fractured toe but wear shoes for a while. The worst thing is I might have re injured my back or caused a spasm in my shoulder from the impact with my butt and the floor. If I can't move in the morning I will know for sure. Oh and I skinned my good knee, 2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide.
Just the kind of day to top off my weekend.
One of the lodges and a youth night dinner on Friday. Sat. the Shriner's had a dinner auction and the kids helped out. Sunday I had an advisory meeting and yesterday I took my 3 kids and 2 others to the movies, Bridge over Terabithia.(sp). On the way home I stopped at the store and before I could get home I got a speeding ticket! Danm trap.
Very expensive, good thing the other 2 had their own money for the movie.
Tonight I had a council meeting, it went very well a little long but very well.
Depending on how my back feels I might go to the Dr or I get to stay home all day. Thursday is a field trip for the 5Th grade gifted class to the museum of flight.
I find the museum of flight very boring but will go anyway for my youngest since I went for the other 2 already.
As soon as I change the batteries in the camera I will post some pics of the scarf and other things I have been working on.
See you soon.

I'm glad all I have to put up with is rain. Wow, it looks nasty in the east.
Hubby is trucking in the midwest and got stuck in CO. over night. He has to get to Kansas City, St. Louis, then Memphis by friday. Kansas closed the roads yesterday and was not letting anyone go west from Colorado. I hope thigs get moving today because I am tired of watching the weather channel and weather plus all day. He calls me for updates.
I haven't been very crafty since I finished the entraluc scarf on sat.
Monday I went to the dept. of licenses and got the title to the van cleared. I got it paid off last month. Whoo hooo. Now what was the payment has been earmarked to pay off the credit cards. I will be dept free by the end of the year. WHOOOO HOOOO!!
I'm taking the van in for an oil change this afternoon so I need to fine something to craft while I wait for it, so I won't drool over the new cars. he he he.
Hubby just called the roads are open and he is trucking again. Yay.
See Ya.

My Haiku

Rain, rain go away.
I've not seen the sun for days.
At least it's not snow.
Tuesday, noon, fog and drizzle.
It is going to rain all week.
Sounds like a monday.

Not much going on right now. Still working on the entralac scarf, it is about 2/3 done. I am not really sure how long I want to make it. It is going to be for my youngest gal. She like purple.
Hubby is home and working on the truck. That means he is grumpy about spending the money on repairs and how much we are losing by him being home on extended stay. The truck is an old one and it will last for a while longer if we take care of it.
I need to get some house cleaning done today.
Stay warm everyone who is in the freezer zone.(Been there).

You Are Emerald Green

Deep and mysterious, it often seems like no one truly gets you.
Inside, you are very emotional and moody - though you don't let it show.
People usually have a strong reaction to you... profound love or deep hate.
But you can even get those who hate you to come around. There's something naturally harmonious about you.

Oh this week.
First off Thomas stayed home from school for 3 days because he was coughing real hard. Then on his first day back he gets called into the office because of some of his drawings. The reason he got in trouble for it is because of the sword, it is a weapon.
The assistant principal said he could not draw these kinds of pictures at school. Thomas is a good artist and I am upset that they are seeing this as anything but creativity. I find nothing wrong with this drawing. What do you think?

Friday I kept Kim home from school because she was not feeling good. I took her to the Dr. She has a sore throat and coughing, with her coughing is a big deal. I knew with it being a Friday that if I didn't take her in I would on Monday and she would be worse. She has an ear infection and the very start of bronchitis. Anti-biotic and an inhaler were ordered. She is tired this weekend and just feels blah.

I got some more done on the entralac (basketweave) scarf, maybe finished next week sometimes.

I should say something about Nicole. She surprised me by getting an A in math on her report card. She has to make up some time for missed days before getting a full report card. So far 3 A's and 3 no credits, she says they will be A's to. Surprise!

Sorry to have bored you with todays post.

you know your from washington when

You Know You're From Washington When...

You know the state flower (Mildew)

You feel guilty when you don't recycle.

You use the phrase "sun break" and know what it means.

You know more than 10 ways to order coffee.

You know more people who own boats than air conditioners.

You feel overdressed wearing a suit to a nice restaurant.

You've stood on a deserted corner in the rain waiting for the "Walk" Signal.

You understand that if it has no snow or has not erupted, it is not a real mountain.

You can taste the difference between Starbuck's, Seattle's Best, Veneto's, Peet's, and Tully's.

You know the difference between Chinook, Coho, and Sockeye salmon.

You consider swimming an indoor sport.

You are well versed in the difference between Japanese, Chinese and Thai food.

In winter, you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark -- while only working eight-hour days.

You never go camping without waterproof matches and a poncho.

You are not fazed by "Today's forecast: showers followed by rain," and "Tomorrow's forecast: rain followed by showers."

You have no concept of humidity without precipitation.

You can point to at least two volcanoes, even if you cannot see through the cloud cover.

You notice "the mountain is out" when it is a pretty day and you can actually see it.

You put on your shorts when the temperature gets above 50, but still wear your hiking boots and parka.

You switch to your sandals when it gets about 60, but keep the socks on.

You've actually used your mountain bike on a mountain.

You think people who use umbrellas are either wimps or tourists.

You knew immediately that the view out of Frasier's window was fake.

You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from Washington.
