My first week of work.
O.K. I did not have a lot of hours to work but the work was physical. I had to cashier and unpack and stock craft supplies. I got to spend about 1/2 an hour in the bead section that was easy I know all the beads and their place. The (s)crap book section was a pain in the ass.
Bending, stooping, lifting and reaching, also running to the register I was in pain for the first week. My back still hurts but I think new shoes will help, I just have to wait a few more paydays before I can buy them.
Monday I had to work closing but it was very quite night because of the threat of a snow storm. I got to be in the yarn section. They thought I was working but I loved petting all the yarn and making the area look nice for a change. Nobody else likes to do the yarn so they don't put heart in it.

Last week I finished another pair of earrings this time Kokopeli is the design. I will post pics later.

I took my brother for his first round of chemo today and he seemed to be in good spirits and feeling good to when I picked him up. He was just tired because it took all day. We will see after his next round in 21 days.

Yesterday the kids had a snow day from school. To bad there was only 1 inch on the ground. It has been very cold though and the roads are very icy in the mornings. Today was a 2 hour delay because of possible snow and ice. Tomorrow we may wake up to snow again. I don't mind the snow but getting only 1-2 inches really suck. I want a real snow amount. I wont happen I live at just above sea level.

Well, I got to go get into bed. I work tomorrow and have a meeting tomorrow night, going to be a long day.

WHOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

I Got A JOB!
I dropped off an applacation last week and got a phone call yesterday. Today I had the interview and got the job. At Michaels. I will have to be very careful not to spend more than I make. I had the feeling that I had the job as soon as I walked in and kept reminding myself not to talk my way out of getting hired. I go for orentation on friday so I will know what I my job will be. I hope I can get more than 20 hours a week.
It is going to be different going out to work instead of working here at home.

I just finished these this week.

This is the second pair of earrings I made out of the delica beads. I timed myself on this pair and it took about 20 hours. The cost about $4.00.
The white is a baby blanket I made for a friend who had her baby on Jan. 4, 2008.
And the last is a scarf I started last year and just got around to finish it up.

I kept the 12 pounds off that I lost last month when I was sick. That brings the total loss to just over 50. The weight might come off faster now that I have a job and be moving around more.

Got to go for now.

It Better Get Better Soon!

Yea I am hoping for a better year this year.
The last quarter of last year really sucked. I don't want to be a whiner or complainer but it really sucked.
Sept. the repairs for the semi was to much to handle so we shut it off and closed off our company. Tom was hoping to buy another truck and lease on with a company but the Dr. who did the physical said he could not be hired on with the company because he has a hernia. The Dr. was just being overly stupid. Tom was hired on with another company as a company driver in Oct.
Just before halloween Tom's nephew was in a bad, BAD motorcycle accident. We did not know if he would live or not for almost a week. Then we did not know if he would need to have his leg removed or not, they were able to save it. He had his jaw wired shut because it was broken so badly. There is some brain damage but I don't know how bad it is. He is still in the hospital and is having more surgeries before he will be released to a nursing home maybe next month. He is learning to walk again and trying to talk.
Oct. my sis suddenly lost her job when the company she worked for decided to close because of funding issues. She got another job and quit after 3 days because of difference of opinions about childcare and preschooling. They were not up to her standards and did not really care. She was finishing her classes when one of her teachers offered her the job she has now and she loves it.
Just after Thankgiving I got pneumonia and was down for 3 weeks. I went to the Dr. last Monday and he took X-rays to make sure it is all gone because I still have a cough. The week before Christmas my brother told us he has cancer. Type B-cell non Hodgkins lymphoma. Today he said there is a spot as big as a quarter and some smaller ones in his stomache on the left side. He is going to start chemo next week and is still testing to get staged.
I am still looking for a job. Before the kids came I could walk into a place and ask for an applacation and walk out with the job. So far 3 nos and 10 no answer.
I sat down yesterday at the sewing machine and made a jeans bag from a pair of Tom's cast offs. I save them for making quilts and patching his jeans for longer life. The bag turned out great and Tom acted as though he did not know I could do such a thing. I have a lot of jeans in the garage and plan on making some more, maybe I can sell them along with some of my bead work. I got and etsy account and just need to get some work done and start posting them. I will let you know when I do get it up and running.
Well I need to go now and go pick up my son from his basketball game, he has 3 more for the season, they are as of monday 4-2. Next week 2 home games and I will be there.

I'm Still Here

Yes I am still here. I just have not felt like blogging much. Truth is I have not read much of your blogs lately either.
Tom is on my butt to find a job. I have put in at least 15 applications and have had no call backs. It is hard to find something I guess it is because I have not had a job in 13 years. The last thing I want to do is work in food service, did it before and never again,(I hope).
I finished a knitted baby blanket for a young friend who is due any time now. All I need to do is weave in the ends.
I am working on a scarf that I started a year ago. I hope to finish it soon.
On monday we went up to see the in-laws. It was the only time we had to go for a visit. I am glad we went and I took my camera and took pics of the kids, Tom and his parents. Toms mother is in a lot of pain with her back and it has gotten her down, really down, I mean this may be something she can't bounce back from. I don't know when we will get back to see her.
We still have the semi truck for sale, we are hoping it sells soon. I have it and Tom's T-Bird on Craigslist.
This will be a quiet weekend at home both Thomas and Kim has a weekend away from home planned so it will just be Nicole and me on sat.
Things to do:
sort through yarn and make afghan,
make beaded earrings,
make beaded key chains,
make hats and scarves,
I am thinking about making a quilt,
clean house.
I wonder if I will get it all done by the end of the month.
