CALMNESS IN OUR LIVES

I am passing this on to you because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace.

Dr. Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished."

So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and tonight, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a bottle of Kahlua, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos and a box of
chocolates.

You have no idea how freaking good I feel. Please pass this on to those whom you think might be in need of inner peace.

Who needs a title

There was not much to blog about last week. You might have guessed that by the post about Humptulips and the Geoduck. These are a few things about my State, Washington.

Last week I made bibs for my sister. She works in a daycare and needed them for the toddlers. They are made using dish towels and t-shirt ribbing. I used the mainstay towels from Walmart 7 for $5.00. I cut a hole in one end near the hem about 7 inches in diameter. I then cut 2 inches strips of the ribbing about 14 inches long (about 3 per strip), sew them in to rings fold in half and them sew them to the inside of the circle in the towels. I made her 27 of them took a few hours of two days to do them. I also washed them and cut the frays off and check the seams for spliting. I don't know how much I will get paid for these but I will get the cost plus 6 hours for the work.

I did do some knitting and crocheting but not much.
I started reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" last friday and I am half way through. I used to read two books a week before kids and now it is less than two a year.

I should get the yard mowed but I think I will wait till later. Rain tomorrow but the rest of the week looks good.

The name Humptulips may have come from a local Native American language, meaning 'hard to pole.' The word references the difficulty the local Native Americans had poling their canoes along the local Humptulips River. Another possibility is that Humptulips was the name of a band of the Chehalis tribe.

What a Weekend

This weekend was so full and busy. I can't believe I did it.
First I had something to do everyday last week from Mondays Dr. appointment. serve dinner on Tuesday. Weds. meeting, Thurs. school conferances X3. Fri. there was a video game tournament and snackbar till midnight. Sat was a Parade had to have the kids there at 9am, then a BBQ at one of the dads home. After the BBQ I took the kids home for the boys to get ready for their meeting after which we went to Denny's for a snack. Sunday the boys had a car wash and then there was a board meeting and then the boys had practice. I was so tired and in pain. I hurt so much that I swear I will never do that much in one weekend again. (Your right' I lie.) Hubby is home and wants the house cleaned better than it is. I spent the time I was home last week making a giant puppet for the parade, a Kirby from the Mario game. I'll try to post a pic later.
Needless to say that for the last two weeks I have been running around so much that the house has been last on the to-do-list.
Now I have to go a get hubby out of Jury Duty.

Teacher Conference X 3

Yep today was teacher conference day. My youngest is BRILLIANT as normal with her.
A Modle student, Joy or Pleasure to have in class. Her teachers are trying to find new words to describe her. I spoke to 3 out of 5 of her teachers. I hope that 6th grade is more of a challenge for her.
The boy is doing well he just has to many days out of school. 3.8 gpa. 7th grade is good for him. He was moved up a level in reading and language arts. whoo hoo!
The oldest if she would turn in her work could be a straight A student. Right now she has a 2.8 gpa. She has to do better than that.
Good night for now.

Hope you had a wonderful Easter

Now that Easter is almost over, the kids will be back in school tomorrow, yeah!
I have had a very busy week.
First I got home Sunday evening at 8 p.m.
Monday the girls had a sleepover for Nicole's birthday.
Tuesday I cleaned the yard of debris from the winters wind storms. I cut the limbs down for the yardwaiste pick-up next Tuesday. I tried to mow the yard but the mower would not start.
Wednesday I took apart the headlight on the van and walked over to the parts store and back. I changed the headlight and put it back together. Yep my hands got dirty.
I had to take the girls to do a thing for the Masons where they meet.
Thursday I fixed the lawnmower and mowed the flat part of the yard. Then I took the girls to play laser tag. It was a mystery trip for them. They had a lot of fun.
Friday I finished mowing the yard, the hill part. All together there is a 1/2 acre lot. I had to take Thomas and my nephew over and drop them off for an overnight trip.
Saturday I hurt real bad all over. We went out to dinner with the family minus the boys for Nicole's birthday, came home and met the boys here with a few friends of theirs for cake.
Today I did nothing but get the table cleaned off for dinner. The family came here for dinner today BBQ burgers and dogs. We BBQ even in the rain.
I have 2 and a 1/2 bunnies made and Kim is trying to make one tonight. I would post pics but the bunnies hopped off to the kids rooms.
Last but not the least, the cough is gone. WhhoooooHoooooooo!!

I'm back

Yes I am back. I got back on Sunday just in time to change and go to a meeting with the girls.
I was in Wenatchee for the weekend with about 250 boys from 12-20 years old and a few girls too.
The convention went well. My group of boys (20) came home with about 14 awards for their competitions. Well done boys.
While there I found a BEAD store just across the street from the convention center. I found some nice beads at a good price. While I was there I had a cough attack, a real bad one too. My friend thought I was going to need 911. She said I was turning purple. My eyes were watering, and I could not catch my breath. After getting the inhaler and a cough drop the lady who worked there gave me some water. I had to sit on the floor for a few minutes and then I was ok.
Yes I still have the cough but it seems to be getting better. It started out as an allergic reaction to some unknown thing in the environment. My lungs and bronchial tubes are clear of congestion. So I don't know what is causing the cough. I will see my Dr. next Monday and will talk to him if it has not gone away.
Yesterday was my daughters 15th birthday so we had a little sleep over with her friends. We had them last night because we have something to do everyday this week.
This is a very busy spring break.
Crafting news- I got one bunny done this weekend, I don't go anywhere without a "something-to-do-bag".
