Beaded Tea Cup

Yesterday I started this little tea cup, just to have something different to do.
The saucer was hell to do but I got it done.

Tag

Name six of life's simple pleasures that you like most, then pick six people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not use things that somebody else has already used.
1. The smell of summer rain.
2. Getting my nails done.
3. Being alone.
4. Sunsets on the beach.
5. Hubby cooking dinner.
6. The carpet getting vacumed by someone else.
Second, once you have been tagged, write a list with 6 facts about yourself and then chose and list 6 people to tag.
1. I am a full time mom.
2. I like to hunt.
3. I am an artist.
4. I like working with my hands.
5. I am a history buff.
6. I can drive a simi-truck.

What else to put for a title.
Still waiting on Thomas' new glasses, they said a few more days. I don't think I can do a few more days of him home from school. I mean he can't see at all, not even to write so going to school would be disruptive for the whole class not just him so home he stays. I have him on laundry duty while he is home.
I had to take the minivan in for a new wheel assimbly it was over an hour to do the job so I walked home and back to pick it up. Twelve blocks round trip. I need to do more walking. But the rain is back.
Last night I started in on making a water bottle "cozy". So far I have made three, made it up as I went. I think I will do another one and write it up.
Thinking about learning to do silk screening, might come in handy.

Today was a pleasent day. It was mostly overcast but a nice temp. The boys decided not to have a car wash, yippeeee.
I hurt from the one yesterday, with my back problems and knee hurting like the dickens I really didn't feel like doing another one.
So what did I do instead still in pain I mowed the yard. Yep 1/3 acre and up hill. I could not stand it any more and had to do it. My reward for this was it rained lightly and fresh cut grass smelled good. Then it rained harder and we had some thunder and lightning. I could hear the crackling of the lightning and then it really smelled good. I did not realize how much I missed the smell of rain. I live in the north west and it rains all the time but the smell of rain just is not the same.
It was fun to watch my dog chase the lightning and bark back at the thunder. He did his job and chased them away.lol.

Nice Day

Today turned out to be a nice day. The weather map was showing rain today but it cleared up.
The girls organization was to have a car wash today but we were the only ones to show up good thing we asked the boys organization to join us otherwise it would have been a bust. We didn't do to bad today before the boys got there the three of us washed a RV for $50 we kept all of that and then split what was made afterwards, $87.
Not bad for about 3 hours work. The boys are having a car wash tomorrow and I have to supervise that one too. It is supposed to rain tomorrow too, but living in the north wet you never know.
I will remember sun screen tomorrow. I never think about sun screen because I don't burn, but get a bit sun kissed on the face. Nicole got a bit more than kissed by the sun but she is the only one, that is what she gets for being blonde.
I finished making 7 bags for the CAL 2 from the sugar n cream lable, and 5 from the LBs market bag pattern 4 of these I reduced in size the first one was so big.
I had to buy new tires today one was starting to seperate and they were geting a bit thin. With all the driving I do I had to replace them now rather than later. While there it was discovered that I also need to have a hub assimbly replaced. That will be on wedensday. I get to wait till fall to do the breaks.
Last night Thomas broke his glasses and they had to be replaced today. I found a place in the mall that was open today for eye exams and the glasses will be done on tuesday. WOW!! $400 just so the kid can see.

Monday again....

Wow it is monday again.
Where to begin? Last monday there was no school and I had a day full of fighting kids. Tuesday Thomas said he was sick and stayed home from school. I made him go to school on wednesday, but he stayed home on thursday and friday. He has had a cough since March and his allergy pills are not clearing it up. He has been to the Dr. and got antibiotics and more allergy pills. He is still coughing.
Last friday at school was culture day, a day we celabrate our native herritage. There is Native Dancers from all over the northwest. And there is dinner, salmon and claims and fry bread. In years past the kids made things to give to the visitors but this year the children were given t-shirts. This is the tenth year in the new school.
Saturday was busy, my 2 daughters and I went to visit 2 other groups in the org. they belong to. My son went to the second one because he had a part to do and there was a dance after. It was so funny that the girls wanted to have a dance and invited the boys to come but there was this thing I call gender by laterial gravitational pull, meaning boys on one side and girls on the other. The girls even squealed at the thought of holding hands with the boys as they run down the center during the time warp. So funny.
After the dance I was on my way home when my nephew called for a rescue, see he had broke the key off in the lock of my dads car. Dad has only one key and the nephew broke it, I had to drive down town to sing for the charges to get the broke key dug out and a new key made, $100. I am such a good aunt.
Sunday Mothers Day, the boys had a dinner for their mothers and a touching talk about the love of their mothers and each one of us got a red rose from our sons.
The hubby might be mad but I made reservations for a trip the girls and I are making this summer to British Columbia. I found a hotel that is just down the road from the Univeristy where the meetings will be held and it was at a resonable rate and in a good neighborhood too. There was a cheap hotel that was downtown and the price made it sound like a seedy part of town. I was not going to take chances with the girls. So all is taken care of our registration and the hotel. Whoo hooo.

What a beautiful week this was. The sun was shinning all week and the temp was perfect. Today not so great, but it is spring time in the North Wet.
I went to the thrift store this week and found dresses for my two girls. I got them four two each or to share, they almost wear the same aize dispite there is almost 4 years between them.
Nicole is 14, 5'7", blond, and thin. She has pale to light tan skin and a perfect complextion. You could hate her for looking good in everything she puts on. With a ponytail and blush she could make a fashion statement in army fatigues.
Kim has green almond shaped eyes and med. tan skin and a dimple. She has the most beautiful smile and can make you do anything she wants. At 10 years old she is 5'3", with light brown hair. With her attitude she can make anything she wears work for her.
Tom and I are dreading it when the dating begins.LOL.
Thomas is my only boy. He is in the middle of the girls, kind of like the cream in the center of the cookie. He is 12 years old and 5'5" a bit on the huskey side but a good looking young man. He prefers jeans and t-shirts but he can clean up good. When he lets his hair grow it is so thick and full of tight curls that the girls will not be able to keep their hands off it. I know when I can run my fingers through his hair he tells me it is time for a hair cut(#2 buzz cut).:(
It is easy to sew for the girls but so hard to sew for the boy. What can I sew for him besides ties (yes he wears them), maybe a dress shirt but my button holes suck.
Speaking of sewing the JoAnns store near me is closing and everything is on closeout. On thursday I went SHOPPING. I got 50% off of the already on clearance stuff because I got all that was on the bolts. I ended up spending over $85.00 so don't tell Tom. I could add up what I saved and just tell him how much I saved not how much I spent.hehe.
